Good to see sustainability back on the agenda and treated as a serious business conversation, not just a side topic.

SCTE ® (the Society for Broadband Professionals) panel on Sustainability brought together Anthony Daly PISEP I REnvP at ClimateEQ, with a strong group of speakers:

What stood out is the constructive debate across the panel. Different angles, different priorities, but a shared sense that sustainability now needs to move from ambition to practical action, measurable outcomes, and better industry alignment.

Encouraging discussion, thoughtful challenges, and good to see this topic getting the attention it deserves again.

Energizing conversations on sustainability, AI and innovation and a real pleasure sharing the stage with such thoughtful voices. Always great reconnecting with the Society for Broadband Professionals community.

On the Sustainability Panel, we explored how #circulareconomy models can reduce #environmentalimpact and address a growing reality: there simply are not enough rare-earth minerals to sustain new technology consumption at the current pace. Rethinking #reuse, #recovery, and #supplychains will be essential to ease geopolitical dependencies and accelerate delivery in the race to #AI.

Another great day yesterday at 1 Great George Street for the second SCTE ® (the Society for Broadband Professionals) Presents event of the year.

The focus was the future of technology, including AI, and it’s a lot to take in. The rate and pace of change is genuinely alarming to think about at times. If you want to remain competitive, sitting on the sidelines or not innovating simply isn’t an option.

What I found most valuable wasn’t the topics I already think about (and there are plenty), it was the ones I hadn’t. Events like this have a way of highlighting the questions you didn’t know you should be asking, and I’m bringing plenty of those back to my CTO.

Having spoken at the previous SCTE Presents event, it’s great to stay connected to these conversations as an attendee too.

I’ve just returned from SCTE ® (the Society for Broadband Professionals)’s The Future of Tech event in London and really enjoyed being part of the 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹.

The audience was fantastic - Really attentive and keen to join the conversation.

We shared ideas about tackling sustainability challenges in the broadband industry together and covered everything from rare earth minerals to making circular economy strategies a reality.

The Future of Tech was a brilliant event, bringing together the people, ideas and technologies shaping the future of connectivity and sustainability. It reinforced the importance of collaboration across the industry, and we’re proud to support the SCTE and be part of the conversation.

The best events are those that create conversations and break down the barriers between the presenters and the audience. SCTE Presents is one of those, right down to the fully open Q&A session at the end of the day, and excellent networking time in the wonderful environs of the Institution of Civil Engineers.

SCTE: Future of Tech was a profoundly eye-opening experience. By bringing together an eclectic mix of voices from different industries, the event provided a truly holistic view of our future. This level of insight is essential for adapting business strategies in such a rapidly evolving landscape.
