SCTE Announces SCTE® Presents: Testing and Measurement
The SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) has announced the date for the first of four events for 2026. SCTE® Presents: Testing & Measurement takes place at the Institute of Civil Engineers at One Great George Street, London on Thursday, 22 January.
At a time where the world of media and entertainment are converging more and more with the practical execution of superfast broadband, it is timely to remind ourselves of the importance of technical standards, for consumers and providers alike.
Sponsored by Frame Communications, Bridge Technologies, Viavi & Fibreplus, Vecima Network Inc. and Harmonic, the SCTE has decided to focus its attention on the testing and measurement across four panels, featuring experts from across the supply chain, covering network build and measurement, network test and measurement and delivery test and measurement, concluding with the all-important user experience.
Now in its 80th year, the SCTE takes its obligations to raise and maintain technical standards seriously, as well as providing an import
ant industry forum for engineers and c-suite executives alike. The SCTE® Presents series, hosted every quarter is just one element of the learning and training programmes that membership provides. The SCTE also offers substantial training opportunities, as well as webinars, publications, podcasts, awards, dinners and a recently launched members app.
SCTE Vice President and Chair of the Conferences Committee Dave Hodges said, “As a professional in this field myself, with a long history at the BSi and CENELEC, I feel passionate that this area should receive the attention it deserves. Without standards, the quality of experience for operators and end users suffers, and ultimately, so does business. We have a duty at the SCTE to ensure such knowledge is shared as part of our ongoing mission to raise and maintain technical standards in this sector.”
Platinum Sponsor Frame Communications’ John Greene said, “As a leading supplier of telecom and enterprise solutions in the UK and Ireland, Frame Communications offers trusted network test, performance and security solutions, and we are delighted to be supporting such an important event in this industry.”
Founder and CEO of Diamond Network Sponsor Bridge Technologies Simen Frostad said, ““I’m glad to be speaking at the SCTE Testing and Measurement Event on a topic that has been at the very heart of Bridge Technologies since 2004. From the very beginning, we’ve been driven by the mission to turn monitoring into active intelligence, moving beyond passive error detection to transform raw data into real-time creative and technical insight.”
Joining as Gold Sponsors are Viavi & Fibreplus, "We’re absolutely delighted to be sponsoring SCTE’s ‘Testing and Measurement’ event this January! It’s an incredible chance to connect with brilliant minds, explore cutting-edge innovations, and celebrate the progress shaping our industry. We can’t wait to meet everyone, share ideas, and be part of the conversations driving the future of broadband technology.” commented Brianna Grant, Fibreplus Marketing Manager.
“At Vecima, we’re enabling Operators to address complex, real-world network challenges with precision, using our cloud-native Entra Access Test Platform and Access Simulators,” said Mike Gannon, Vice President, Sales Engineering and Emerging Technologies. “We’re eager to discuss the possibilities with the SCTE community in January and how Operators can automate and simplify the management of their broadband networks.”
We are pleased to announce that Harmonic have also been confirmed as a Gold Sponsor for this event and will be joining Panel 2 on the day.
