In this article, I will share my brief journey and highlight the invaluable benefits we gained from the bursary. At the exhibition, I witnessed ground-breaking advancements in broadband technology Surrounded by cutting-edge technologies and industry pioneers, I was inspired by the immense potential of broadband. This exposure expanded my understanding of the industry’s possibilities. Attending as a bursary winner allowed me to connect with industry experts, entrepreneurs, and like-minded individuals. Engaging in discussions and networking events opened doors for collaborations and valuable partnerships. The bursary facilitated personal growth, expanding my knowledge of industry trends and technologies. This knowledge enables me to contribute effectively to my company’s success... Being a bursary winner was a valuable experience. It broadened my understanding of broadband technology and facilitated meaningful connections. SCTE Bursary Winners Kosovo winners IPKO report on their experiences at ANGA COM Kushtrim Kumnova, IPKO, Kosovo Kushtrim (far right), and his colleagues at ANGA COM in May As SCTE President, I feel very strongly that we should be giving back to the industry wherever possible, and the bursary scheme we offer is a big part of that. My own background as an engineer was only made possible by certain doors being opened for me, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the kind of training and bursary initiatives that our great industry makes available. Stories like mine aren’t exceptional; many of us have worked our way up through doors being opened. I was reminded of this reading Jakup Ratkoceri’s article in this issue of Broadband Journal, and really his story takes the concept of what bursaries can do to another level entirely. Jakup points out the confidence that having access to trade shows gave him; it isn’t just about knowing how to splice; bursaries open the door to a wealth of interpersonal skills training, confidence and self-assurance – it is those qualities that will open futher doors for you in future, it is those qualities that will get you noticed and enable you to succeed.
