112 Vol. 45 No. 3 - September 2023 Issue products For more information, see www.hirschmann-multimedia.com/en Hirschmann have recently introduced what they consider to be the industry’s smallest Form Factor with the lowest energy consumption, the DMN1218. This is an expansion of its portfolio with the Digital Mini Node supporting DOCSIS 3.0, DOCSIS 3.1, and DOCSIS 3.1+ – for Digital Access with a Remote PHY node. The DMN1218 DOCSIS 3.1 RPD Digital Mini Node provides 10G bandwidth to DOCSIS, (XGS)PON and local generated DVBC applications. Using a very small form factor, focusing on highest performance, the company says this product is the industry’s smallest and most energy-efficient product of its kind. It has RF technology built around the most recent generation of GaN 1.8GHz PA’s, providing efficiency and reliability. The device is also equipped with full GaN technology in its power supply. The Remote Phy Devices (RPD’s) are remotely segmental, which allows them to double the upstream capacity for the cable modems, enabling cable networks to provide a better service to their subscribers. The Digital Mini Node can also be equipped with a Mini OLT, supporting both fibre and coax networks in parallel, providing flexibility and options for cable networks.
