21712 - SCTE Broadband Nov2022 COMPLETE v1

7 Vol. 44 No. 4 - November 2022 Issue scte news Bursting at the seams this year, with stands all over the two floors of available space, tucked away under stairs and in corridors, clearly having outgrown the Business Design Centre, Connected Britain was an outstanding success and the organisers deserve to be congratulated. Exhibitors from all over Europe and beyond packed the floor and the mood was certainly upbeat. Featuring speakers including Lutz Schüler from Virgin Media o2, Katherine Ainley, CEO UK & Ireland of Ericsson and Ahmed Essam, CEO of Vodafone UK, the show, now in its 8th year, was well supported by a huge number of sponsors, indicating the importance on this show as the fibre roll out continues to dominate conversation worldwide. Kieran Murphy of Total Telecom, the show’s organisers said, “We were delighted by the uptake at Connected Britain this year and the support shown by our exhibitors was marvellous. Everyone we have talked to seemed to have got a lot out of the show and the feedback overall has been really positive. We are excited by our move to the Excel in London next year and hope to deliver an even better experience in a dedicated space.” Indeed, this young show has grown exponentially in the last few years, no small achievement considering the pandemic swept in after the show’s 4th year. We are delighted to see it growing so fast and are sure that its next incarnation at the Excel Centre in London in September 2023 will be even better.
