Les is a qualified physics and maths teacher but has been in the aerial and satellite industry since 1988 when he started his own installation company.  He served as a director of CAI (Confederation of Aerial Industries) since 1997 and was its chairman from 2013 until December 2019 when he closed his business and retired.  He is still involved with CAI being on both the training and technical committees.  Part of the role of the technical committee is the writing of Codes of Practice for the membership and keeping them informed of changes in standards and technology.

Les became a member of the SCTE in March 2003 and was made an Honorary Fellow at the Awards’ Dinner in 2019 in recognition for his services to the industry.  At the 2019 AGM Les was elected on to the SCTE Executive and became Treasurer in 2020.  He also sits on the Technical Committee and Social Activities Committee.
