This year’s SCTE Spring Lecture will take place on Wednesday 27 March 2019 at the National Conference Centre (National Motorcycle Museum) in Solihull (near the NEC in Birmingham, UK). The Spring Lecture will be centred on wireless technologies, Full Duplex DOCSIS and optical fibre, with perspectives from two network operators. Lunch is free for SCTE members, and free entry is also offered to the National Motorcyle Museum.
The SCTE’s annual Gala Awards Dinner & Dance, the highlight of the Society’s social calendar, will return to the Old Palace at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire (UK) on Saturday 29 June 2019. Hatfield House, built in 1611, is a celebrated Jacobean house standing majestically in its own Great Park. The Old Palace, which was built at the earlier time of 1497, was once owned by Henry VIII, father of Elizabeth I, who used it as a home for his children and it was while she was living at the Old Palace in 1558, that Elizabeth learned of her accession to the throne.
Nominations are now being sought for the 2019 SCTE Technological Innovation Awards which will be presented at the SCTE Gala Awards Dinner on 29 June 2019 at The Old Palace at Hatfield House (UK). The competition honours innovative products, systems and concepts in the broadband industry. The awards are for technological innovation in the broadband arena and may be for a product, system or concept. (Please note that the item nominated must have been introduced into the marketplace between 1 January 2018 and 31 December 2018).
Following its very successful Gala Dinner on the SS Rotterdam on the 70th anniversary of the SCTE, SCTE’s Benelux Group has selected the luxury ship again as the venue for its 2019 Annual Dinner on 9 February 2019. Hotel accommodation is on board for those who wish to stay the night.
The SCTETM Benelux Lecture, at this year’s IBC exhibition at the RAI Centre in Amsterdam, will be held on Monday 17 September 2018 in the new venue of the Topaz Lounge at the RAI. The focus will be on Virtual Reality.
