SCTE announces 2022 Autumn lecture and annual general meeting

The SCTE® (Society for Broadband Professionals) is hosting its annual Autumn Lecture for its members and partners as part of its remit to educate and inform. Taking place again at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham on Thursday, October 13, the all-day, filmed event includes five lectures, a networking lunch as well as networking opportunities throughout the day. The AGM will follow at 5pm sharp.

The theme is concerned with the ongoing fibre roll out across the UK and the speakers have been selected with their specific expertise all along the supply chain, complementing each other.

The speakers include Kelly Fournier, Head of Client Acquisition for leading Belgian software design company Comsof, Reece Simmons of Broadway Partners, who are a rural broadband provider, based in Powys, south Wales. Anthony Basham, President of the SCTE® and CSO, Head of Sales at DKT in Denmark will be presenting for the first time, while Georgina Rudak and Terry Daniell from Trenches Law will be delivering a lecture on the complexities of wayleaves.

Rien Baan, Vice President of the SCTE ® said, “At the SCTE® we pride ourselves in educating and informing the industry, reflecting the concerns of the sector as technology develops and commercial imperatives evolve; we are therefore confident the line-up of speakers for our Autumn Lecture provides a valuable insight into the entire fibre roll out process. Whether you are an engineer or junior executive just breaking into the business or a seasoned veteran, such is the fast-moving pace of our industry that we feel certain everyone will take something away with them.”

Kelly Fournier said, “It’s an exciting time to be involved in this sector and I am really looking forward to both explaining how the network design phase works, as well as hearing more about the areas I am less familiar with. Either way it will be a fascinating day surrounded by interesting people. The networking alone will be very valuable.”

The day is free of charge to SCTE® members and costs £50 per head for non-members which includes lunch. Fees will be refunded against the cost of joining should delegates choose to become a member on the day.
