SCTE and Amphenol Broadband Solutions Announce New Coax Webinar
The SCTE, Society for Broadband Professionals, and Amphenol Broadband Solutions (ABS) will launch the first of SCTE’s new series of industry webinars on 28 January 2021.
The hour-long webinar on Thursday 28 January 2021 (10am EST/3pm GMT/4pm CET), titled “Getting the Best Out of Coax”, is designed to disseminate knowledge and share best practice, via a panel of experts from the SCTE and ABS. Technical Product Manager, Nick Padfield, and Tim Cooke, Director of Product Management, will represent Amphenol Broadband Solutions (an SCTE corporate member), while Anthony Basham (President) and Rien Baan (Vice President) will represent the SCTE.
The event will be focused on coaxial cable and aims to provide an overview of the network landscape, the co-existence of coaxial and fibre and demands on the network, particularly over the last challenging year. It will examine future demands on the network and the role that coaxial cable will continue to play, as well as future demands on the cable plant. The event will be chaired by James Harwood, Learning Experience Manager – Delivery, Virgin Media who is also on the SCTE Executive Committee.
Anthony Basham, SCTE President, said, “The SCTE feels strongly that education is a powerful tool and, as a Learned Society, we are in a strong position to offer this platform as a way of supporting technicians and industry professionals. Done well, webinars are interactive and social; everybody benefits.”
Stefan Hoogendoorn, Director, International Sales EMEA & APAC of ABS said, “Starting the year with a webinar, in partnership with the SCTE, is exactly how the team at Amphenol wanted to connect with its customers and, more broadly, the sector. We are very excited for 28 January 2021. We expect this webinar will initiate further dialogue within the service provider community that will lead to a path forward for the manufacture of coaxial cables, enhancing services that may be offered to end-users.”
Registration is free and open from 4 January 2021 via link:
