Join us at the SCTE Annual Gala Awards Dinner
The SCTE’s annual Gala Awards Dinner & Dance, the highlight of the Society’s social calendar, will return to the Old Palace at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire (UK) on Saturday 29 June 2019. Hatfield House, built in 1611, is a celebrated Jacobean house standing majestically in its own Great Park. The Old Palace, which was built at the earlier time of 1497, was once owned by Henry VIII, father of Elizabeth I, who used it as a home for his children and it was while she was living at the Old Palace in 1558, that Elizabeth learned of her accession to the throne.
Hatfield House has been in the Cecil family for 400 years and is currently the home of the 7th Marquess and Marchioness of Salisbury. The Great Hall in the Old Palace, where the dinner will be taking place, has a stunning vaulted ceiling and colourful tapestries and, for the Champagne Reception, we will be in the beautifully manicured Knot Garden (weather permitting) which is alongside the Old Palace.
The event will start at 7.15pm with a Champagne Reception in the Knot Garden, followed by a sumptuous four-course banquet with wine in the Great Hall. Tables are traditional refectory-type (oblong) tables seating 10 or a maximum of 12, so why not make up a table with your friends? The awards will be presented after the dinner together with SCTE Honorary Fellowships. Dancing to our fabulous live band “Choice” follows, along with the chance to have a flutter at our fun casino, until the close of the evening. Dress code is black tie and a photographer will be available on the evening.
Tickets are now available at the highly subsidised rate of £100 (inc. VAT) per person for SCTE Members and their spouse/ guest. For non-members, however, as attendance at the Dinner is regarded as a benefit of SCTE membership due to the subsidies offered, we will be charging places to non-members at the increased rate of £150 (inc. VAT) per person. Non-members are, however, permitted to apply for membership where this is appropriate and, if successful, they will then be charged at the SCTE member rate for tickets booked.
