SCTE Announces 2017 Individual Achievement Award Winners

The SCTETM (Society for Broadband Professionals) has confirmed the winners of its prestigious 2017 Individual Achievement awards. The winners were announced at its Annual Gala Awards Dinner on Saturday 17 June 2017 at the prestigious venue of Drapers’ Hall in London. This key networking event in the industry calendar featured a champagne reception, four-course dinner, entertainment, a fun casino and dancing.

The 2017 Richard Harris Member of the Year Award went to Damian Johnstone, FSCTE (Senior Manager of Access Platform Engineering - Testing & Type Approval for LG, Virgin Media). The award for SCTE Engineer of the Year 2017 was given to Eric Harvey, FSCTE (Principal Technical Site Engineer, Virgin Media). An Honorary Fellowship of the Society was also presented to Mike Crimp (CEO, IBC).

The winner of the 2017 David Hall Award for Best Presentation was announced as Ron Hranac HFSCTE (Technical Leader, Engineering, Cisco Systems, Inc.) for his lecture presentation on ‘“DOCSIS® 3.1 – An Overview (Parts 1 and 2)” .

Founded in 1945, the SCTE is a Learned Society and non-profitmaking organisation whose aim is to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the telecommunications industry. The Society particularly concerns itself with the training and career advancement of technical professionals in the field.
