Shortlist confirmed for 2011 SCTE Technological Innovation Awards

The SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) has confirmed the shortlist for its prestigious 2011 Awards for Technological Innovation. The winners will be announced at its annual Gala Dinner on Saturday 2 April 2011 at Hatfield House in Hatfield, Herts.

The awards, open to the entire broadband industry, are for technological innovation in the broadband arena and may be for a product, system or concept. The item nominated must have been introduced into the marketplace between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2010. The shortlisted companies/products in the three separate award categories are:-

  • ‘Best broadband network transmission solution’ shortlist

Arcom (QAM Snare)

Bridge Technologies (VB12-RF IP monitoring and measurement system)

Segnet (XIQAM)

  • ‘Best digital processing solution’ shortlist

BigBand Networks (vip PASS)

Harmonic (NSG 9000 HectoQAM)

RGB Networks (TransAct Packager)

  • ‘Best CPE solution’ shortlist

Asheridge (Quantum Data QD780)

JDSU (JDSU PathTrak 2.5 & RPM3000 MACTrak)

Technetix (MoCA safe technology for CATV splitters)

The best overall submission will receive the SCTE 2011 Technological Innovation of the Year Award. The 2010 winner of the best overall submission was RGB Networks for its Video Multiprocessing Gateway.

Founded in 1945, the SCTE is a Learned Society and non-profit making organisation whose aim is to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the telecommunications industry. The Society particularly concerns itself with the training and career advancement of technical professionals in the field.
