Society for Broadband Professionals and International Society of Broadband Experts Announce First Joint Training Course Integration

The Society for Broadband Professionals (SCTE) and The International Society for Broadband Experts (ISBE) today announced that SCTE input is being integrated for the first time into an existing ISBE course, enabling the two organisations to maximise their combined capabilities to create an enhanced educational opportunity for the cable broadband industry.

ISBE, the international arm of the US-based Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers, is integrating input from the UK-based SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) in the next release of its DOCSIS 3.1 Installation course, which the SCTE will then promote as part of its international portfolio of training. Discussions are underway for other cooperative ventures, including the ability of each society to endorse the others’ training courses and final certification.

SCTE and ISBE training courses and accreditation have achieved wide acceptance as the standards for young technicians wishing to enter the field of cable telecommunications and for those wishing to advance their knowledge and career prospects.

“We are delighted to be working together on our respective training portfolios,” commented Mike Thornton, President of the Society for Broadband Professionals. “We have worked hard to develop a strong collaborative relationship in this area and will be highlighting this at our joint booth (no. 14) at the forthcoming Liberty Global Technology Summit in Amsterdam (20 September 2017).”

“Both of our organisations have built strong reputations in the global training field, with a range of customers across the cable telecommunications sector,” said Mark Dzuban, President and CEO of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers and ISBE. “We believe that working together with the Society for Broadband Professionals can improve business results for the industry by providing best-in-class training.”
