SCTE Autumn Lecture to Focus on Next Generation Technologies

The SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) has confirmed that its upcoming Autumn lecture on 10 October will focus on a range of next generation technologies and testing, including LTE (and its impact), CCAP, CPE testing and RFoG (Radio Frequency over Glass). The event, to be held at the IET in London, will cover a wide range of topics presented by speakers from key players in the industry including Virgin Media, Swires Research, Motorola Mobility, ARRIS and EXFO.

SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) is a global body that represents its members by aiming to raise the standard of broadband engineering in the telecommunications industry. The Autumn lecture on 10 October will also be the venue for SCTE’s Annual General Meeting, where members vote for the SCTE Executive.

Dr Roger Blakeway, President of SCTE, commented: “The Autumn lecture is part of our regular series of lecture meetings across the globe in which we aim to update and inform our members and the industry generally about the trends and developments that will affect our lives, both as individuals and in our working environment. I am delighted that we have been able to create such an interesting and thought-provoking programme to offer at the IET.”

The event will be followed by a cocktail party at the IET for members and non-members to network further. As usual, there is no charge for members to attend the lecture meeting - just turn up.  There is, however, an optional luncheon (with wine) on this occasion at the IET at the heavily subsidised rate of £15.00 plus VAT per person (ie  £18.00).  If you wish to bring any non-member guest(s) the charge for attendance at the day's lecture meeting is £50.00 plus VAT (ie £60.00), plus an optional charge of £15.00 plus VAT (ie £18.00) for luncheon at the IET.

All papers presented will be available for members to download from the SCTE website (www.thescte.eu) after the event. All the presentations will be filmed, synchronised with the PPT presentations and available to upload from the SCTE website www.thecste.eu or the IET website at www.iet.tv.
