21581 - SCTE Broadband August2022 COMPLETE v1

90 Vol. 44 No. 3 - September 2022 Issue In May, ANGA COM celebrated a successful and brilliant restart after a two-year break due to the pandemic. Exhibitors and visitors were enthusiastic about the quality of the exhibition, the conference programme, the open-air plaza and the various evening events, all accompanied by the most wonderful summer weather. With more than 18,000 participants joining us over three days, we exceeded all expectations. We received over 90% of the number of participants in the record year 2019 – a record restart and an outstanding result compared with other international trade shows. In addition, there were over 390 exhibitors from 33 countries on more than 22,000m 2 of exhibition space. This year, the Exhibition for Broadband, Television & Online recorded a particularly large number of space expansions and new entries, especially in the areas of fibre, DOSCIS 4.0 and connectivity. In terms of media topics, streaming, OTT and AppTV were the focus. Highlights of the conference programme were five summit discussions with equally high-profile speakers from the broadband and media industry, such as Nicole Agudo Berbel (Seven. One Entertainment Group), Matthias Dang (RTL Deutschland), Thorsten Dirks (Deutsche Glasfaser), Srini Gopalan (Deutsche Telekom), Andreas Laukenmann (Vodafone Deutschland), Timo von Lepel (NetCologne), Dr. Daniel Ritz (Tele Columbus), Dr. Christoph Schneider (Amazon Prime Video), Christine Strobl (ARD) and Elke Walthelm (Sky Deutschland). Within the conference programme, the panel “DOCSIS 4.0 – Precision Equipment enables Extended Spectrum“ was a huge success. It took place in cooperation with the SCTE ® ’s own Anthony Basham in his capacity as President and Vice Chair of the Technical/Standards Committees, and Chair of the Modernisation Committee. Thomas Braun, President of the Broadband Association ANGA: “The feedback I have received from exhibitors and visitors has been fabulous. The success of the event will give our booming industry an additional boost. In addition, this broadcasts a clear political message: Public administration must now swiftly implement the promised de- bureaucratisation and digitisation. Our ANGA COM has once again impressively strengthened its position as the industry’s leading marketplace and conference in some very difficult conditions. My warmest congratulations go to our Managing Director Dr. Peter Charissé, who always ANGA Brilliant Restart with 18,000 Participants ANGA COM 2022
