SCTE cancels Balkan event

It is with great regret that SCTE, the Society for Broadband Professionals, has decided to cancel its 8th Balkan Broadband conference and exhibition in Belgrade, Serbia on 6 October 2016.

The SCTE has held these events successfully in the past and enjoys strong membership in the Balkans region. This year, its event would have enjoyed the full support of both the PUKOS and UKOS cable associations in Serbia.

A number of factors have contributed to this decision, including the fact that an email from SCTE’s partner in its Hungarian event last year, ECEBE, has given the impression, erroneously, that there is a connection between SCTE and the joint ECEBE/Media Platform event in Hungary this year. A strong complaint from the SCTE management to ECEBE on this has been sent.

The SCTE feels that it has no option but to cancel the event before too many costs are incurred for existing exhibitors, sponsors, partners and visitors. The SCTE would like to thank its exhibitors, sponsors and partners for their support, which is deeply appreciated, and apologises for any inconvenience that may have been caused.
