SCTE launches analysis of training needs

Training specialist Broadband Training Ltd, the SCTE-approved training course provider, has launched a new Analysis of Training Needs, a comprehensive assessment for technicians involved in the broadband industry. It features an easy-to-use web-based training assessment structure, is based on current SCTE (Society for Broadband Professionals) training courses and identifies areas where the technician requires further training.

The assessment consists of 100 questions, with a time limit of 100 minutes, and four sections with 25 questions per section. Each section has a selection of questions from one of the SCTE training courses (SCTE Installer, SCTE Service Technician, SCTE Network Technician and SCTE Network Architecture and Design).

The questions are randomised from a pool of questions and with the answers in random order. The results from this assessment will offer an overview of each candidate's training requirements. SCTE training courses include Installation Technician, Service Technician, Network Technician, Network Architecture and Design, Fibre Optic Transmission for Technicians and An Introduction to Broadband. For further details of the new training needs analysis, access http://www.broadbandtraining.eu

The SCTE recently updated and revised its ‘Fibre Optic Transmission for Technicians Course’, which covers issues such as fibre network topologies, blown fibre techniques, fusion/mechanical splicing, fibre containment, applications etc. It is structured for technicians working with fibre networks.
