Following the phenomenal success of the first international Balkan Broadband Conference and Exhibition in Kosovo last year, SCTE’s next event, run by HM Consult LLC, will be held on 8 April 2010 in Skopje, capital city of the Federal Republic of Macedonia.
The first event, on 12 March 2009, attracted 192 registered visitors from 17 countries with 22 international brands represented (from 14 countries) on the exhibition floor. The event received tremendous local press coverage with live TV cameras on-site and reports in printed media as well as TV interviews at the event with Keynote speakers.
The Western Balkan market is one of the most exciting emerging markets in Central Europe: more than 25 million closely linked inhabitants in 8 countries. The broadband market in many of these countries is rapidly moving forward as consolidation has started. These markets are supported by well known players, including local incumbents such as Slovenian Telecom.
The second Balkan Broadband Conference offers top-level Keynote speakers, exhibition floors where investors, operators, technicians and installers ‘Meet & Greet’ the international exhibitors, and special break-out training sessions for visitors eager to gain knowledge about technologies.
SCTE training courses in the Balkans have netted the Society many new members and a reputation as a leading broadband trainer in the region.
