After his internal training, he worked as an electronics specialist with air traffic control. Among others, he was involved in the modernisation of the communications centre that looked after contacts between air traffic and air traffic control. In 1993, Kweldam joined a local cable company, CAI Harderwijk. As a member of the technical staff, he was involved in the professionalisation of the coaxial network, including implementation of remote switching of multi-tap devices and digitalisation of the network to make digital television available. On 1 January 2006, Kweldam was appointed general manager of the CAI Harderwijk Association . Under his leadership, the organisation assumed the role of network manager, which included the establishment of Breednet in Harderwijk. Since he joined CAI, the organisation has taken a more public stance. Kweldam keeps track of international developments within Cable Europe. At a national level, he is active in Dutch Cable and in the Fibre-to-the-Home Platform. Kweldam frequently gives national and international lectures on the work procedures of CAI Harderwijk and on his vision of what lies ahead in the field. Other local cable companies regularly adopt the CAI Harderwijk concept. |
